Douglas B Taylor, founder & managing partner of douglasbtaylor International Consulting LLC, was named the 34th inductee to the Inside Market Data Hall of Fame in 2019, joining such industry titans as Mike Bloomberg and Neil Hirsh.
Known for founding the market data & news industry’s leading research firm Burton-Taylor International Consulting LLC in 2006, Mr. Taylor entered the information & news space at Reuters in 1987 where he spent 15 years in North America, South America and Europe, the last 5 of which heading Reuters news marketing and product management globally, from London. His teams successfully redefined product segmentation and commercial policy to, for the first time in Reuters history, profitably address financial professional, media and consumer audiences.
After leaving Reuters, Mr. Taylor served as Managing Director, Customer Segment Management, Marketing & Product Development, for Thomson Financial in Asia. In the Hong Kong based role he headed the marketing and product development divisions as well as the Investment Management, Investment Banking & Research, Institutional Equities and Wealth Management business units for the region. Mr. Taylor’s teams completed ground breaking market, competitor, customer and user needs research and defined a news and data strategy which tripled revenue and served as a foundation for the methodology that would lead Burton-Taylor International Consulting LLC to become the benchmark in information industry performance measurement. Burton-Taylor International Consulting was acquired by TP ICAP in 2016. Mr. Taylor left B-T to create douglasbtaylor International Consulting LLC at the end of 2019.
Mr. Taylor has also served as Chief Operating Officer of EMIS, then a Euromoney Institutional Investor company specializing in delivering emerging market research, news, private company data and analytics to corporate, consulting, government and investment professionals and as Manager, Partner Engagement at software giant Microsoft, responsible for channel partner business strategy and relationship management in Microsoft’s largest customer segment.
